Overview

About This Tour

There's a version of the Golden Triangle that most people take, and then there's this one — the same Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra you'd expect, but with a detour into Pushkar, one of Rajasthan's oldest and most sacred towns. Arivo Holidays built this 8-day itinerary for travelers who want the forts and the Taj Mahal, but also want a slower, more spiritual side to the trip.

Pushkar sits by a lake said to have been formed by a fallen lotus petal from Lord Brahma himself, ringed by bathing ghats and one of the only Brahma temples in the country. From there, the route winds through Jaipur's palaces, a stop at the extraordinary stepwell of Abhaneri, and finally Agra, where a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal closes out the heritage side of the journey before you're back in Delhi.

Every transfer runs in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced driver, so the eight days move at a pace that suits you — whether that's couples on a longer honeymoon, families travelling with parents or kids, or solo travelers who'd rather not join a group bus.

Itinerary

Day-by-Day Itinerary

1

Touch down in Delhi and an Arivo Holidays representative will be there to greet you and take you to your hotel in a private car. Once you've checked in, you'll get your travel documents and a quick rundown of the days ahead from the team. The rest of the day is yours — rest up, or wander a nearby market if you're feeling up to it.

Overnight stay: Delhi

2

After breakfast, it's a longer drive out to Pushkar, tucked into the Aravalli hills. Once you've checked in and had a chance to freshen up, head out to the Brahma Temple — one of the very few temples in India dedicated to Lord Brahma — before walking down to Pushkar Lake, where the ghats and quiet prayer rituals give the town its unmistakable calm.

In the evening, lose an hour or two in Pushkar's bazaars, known for handicrafts, silver jewellery, and colourful textiles.

Overnight stay: Pushkar

3

With Pushkar's temples and lake already seen, take the morning at your own pace before setting off for Jaipur. Arrive, check in, and settle into the Pink City ahead of a full day of sightseeing tomorrow.

Overnight stay: Jaipur

4

Start at Amber Fort, working through its courtyards and mirrored halls before taking in the view from the hilltop. On the way back, stop for photos at Jal Mahal, the palace that appears to float in the middle of Man Sagar Lake.

The old city follows — City Palace, the strange stone instruments of Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal's honeycomb façade — before the evening opens up for Jaipur's markets, whether you're after textiles, silver jewellery, or just a plate of local street food.

Overnight stay: Jaipur

5

Check out after breakfast and head toward Agra, with a stop along the way at Abhaneri village to see Chand Baori — a stepwell unlike almost anything else in the country, with 3,500 narrow steps arranged across 13 levels in a striking geometric pattern.

From there, continue on to Agra, check in, and take the evening easy — tomorrow starts early.

Overnight stay: Agra

6

Head out before sunrise to catch the Taj Mahal as the light comes up, its white marble shifting through soft shades as the sun rises. Take your time here, walk the complex, and get the photos you came for before heading back to the hotel for breakfast.

Check out and drive back to Delhi. Once you've arrived and checked into your hotel, the rest of the evening is free.

Overnight stay: Delhi

7

Today's about Delhi's contrasts. Start in Old Delhi at Jama Masjid, then take a rickshaw ride through the crowded lanes of Chandni Chowk before a quiet stop at Raj Ghat. From there, drive past India Gate and the President's House on the way into New Delhi.

The afternoon brings a calmer stretch at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the detailed stonework of Akshardham Temple, and a final stop at the towering Qutub Minar to close out the day.

Overnight stay: Delhi

8

Take breakfast and the morning slow — relax at the hotel or squeeze in some last-minute shopping if there's anything left on your list. Around noon, check out, and Arivo Holidays will host a farewell dinner to close out the trip properly before your private transfer to Delhi Airport for your flight home.

About the Golden Triangle with Pushkar Tour

This is Arivo Holidays' take on the Golden Triangle for travelers who want something more than forts and monuments alone. Alongside Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra, the itinerary adds Pushkar — a genuinely holy town, not just a photo stop — plus a detour to the striking stepwell at Abhaneri on the way into Agra.

The trip opens in Delhi, moves into Rajasthan for Pushkar's lake and temple, continues through Jaipur's palaces, pauses at Abhaneri's extraordinary stepwell, and builds to a sunrise Taj Mahal visit before looping back to Delhi for a last day of sightseeing and a farewell dinner.

Arivo Holidays manages the private vehicle, driver, hotel stays, and daily arrangements throughout, so a route covering five towns in eight days stays comfortable rather than rushed — well suited to couples, families, and travelers who want Rajasthan's spiritual side alongside its royal one.

Travel Tips for This Trip

  • Keep Documents Handy: Carry physical and digital copies of your ID, flight tickets, and hotel vouchers, and let your bank know you'll be travelling so your cards work without issues.

  • Dress Modestly for Temples: Pack clothing that covers shoulders and knees for places like Pushkar Lake and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, and carry a light scarf in case you need to cover your head.

  • Bring Comfortable Shoes: Forts, stepwells, and old-city walking tours add up — good walking shoes make a real difference.

  • Pack for the Season: Light jackets or sweaters for winter mornings and evenings (Nov–Feb), light cottons if you're travelling in the warmer months.

  • Stick to Bottled Water: Sealed mineral water is the safe default throughout the trip.

  • Carry Basic Medicines: Your regular prescriptions plus something for motion sickness, headaches, or an upset stomach are worth having on hand.

  • Pack Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat make daytime sightseeing at Amber Fort or the Taj Mahal a lot more comfortable.

  • Follow Local Etiquette: Remove shoes and socks before entering temples, mosques, or gurudwaras, and check with your Arivo Holidays driver before photographing anywhere the rules aren't clearly posted.
