Khajuraho Temple Complex

Khajuraho's temples were raised by the Chandela dynasty between the 9th and 11th centuries, and today around 25 of the original 85 structures survive. The Western Group, enclosed in a manicured park, holds the finest of them all — the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple, with its soaring shikhara and more than 800 sculptures, alongside Lakshmana and Chitragupta temples.
